Because of the spiritually-focused, set-apart environment on the Ellerslie grounds, graduates of the Intensive Training (EIT) may desire to continue this set-apart season. We encourage this! And to help foster this ongoing development, we have reserved space on the Ellerslie campus throughout the year for this exact purpose.

As an Ellerslie student entering the EGSP program your training will shift from a structured classroom model to a less-formal,  individually-governed pursuit of God – but with continued spiritual guidance and discipleship from the Ellerslie leadership.  You can remain part of the Ellerslie community and benefit from ongoing support from the leadership to foster your spiritual growth.

The 3 key questions associated with the EGSP are as follows:

1. How many available dorm spots are there and how do I secure one?

2. How long can I stay on? Is there a limit to my stay?

3. How much does it cost to stay on campus as an EGSP student?

So, let’s answer each of these questions ...

Availability:

As of right now, there are 24 dorm spots set aside in each semester for EGSP students. These spots will be available to EIT students on a first-come-first-served basis.

Length of Stay:

1) Because of high demand and limited dorm space, EGSP students can remain on-campus for a maximum of two semesters past their EIT graduation date.  For example, a 2010 Summer EIT grad can stay on for the following fall and spring semesters, and would need to leave 2 weeks prior to the start of the 2011 Summer program.  There is the possibility that EGSP students will be able to stay longer than two semesters should additional dorm space open up - this would be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.  Additionally, if any EGSP students desire to continue at Ellerslie once the two semesters have ended, they have the option of finding housing off-campus and continuing to participate in the EGSP program.

2) EGSP students should know that there are four Ellerslie weekend conferences offered on the grounds throughout the year— one in early September, two in early January, and one in late May. When these conferences are in session, the entirety of the campus will be used for these conferences and thusly, each individual room would need to be utilized. EGPS students, unless participating in the conferences, would need to board elsewhere during those weekends. (We are working on options to help accommodate our students during this time – i.e. host families from the Church At Ellerslie, local hotels, etc.)

Cost: The EGSP program is $650 per month. This amount would cover food, lodging in a double-occupancy room (with a roommate) and utilities. To secure a dorm spot, a non-refundable deposit of $250.00 will be required by August 16, 2010.

Other considerations:

In contrast with the EIT students, students involved in the EGSP program would be able to hold jobs to offset their financial needs as well as potentially become involved serving other ministries in the surrounding area.
