Think On These Things
An in-depth study of Philippians 4:8
A Daily Thunder Series with Nathan Johnson
01: Again, I Will Say, Rejoice
Key Passage: Philippians 4:4
Christians are supposed to have a certain focus of their mind—or, as Paul says, “think on these things.” In this special series, Nathan teaches from Philippians 4:4–8 and discusses what it means not only to have a Christian mindset, but to let it affect every aspect of your life. In this first study, he discusses the biblical aspects of joy and what it means to practically “rejoice always.”
02: Aggressive Gentleness
Key Passage: Philippians 4:5
Our gentleness is to be known to everyone—but gentleness is not what we may think it is … its a willingness to demonstrate love rather than argue and prove yourself right (or to demand your own rights). It is a willingness to overlook offense for the sake of showing someone else mercy and love. It is to go beyond expectations in showing mercy when justice is expected and required. In this study, we explore Philippians 4:5 and discover what it means for us to respond like Jesus in every situation.
03: Be Anxious for Nothing
Key Passage: Philippians 4:6
Paul commands us not to worry, forebode, or walk in worry. Rather, everything in our lives should press us ever more unto Jesus Christ. In this study from Philippians 4:6, we explore what it means for us to be “cut to pieces” by anxiety and how the solution is found in Christ, not in attempting to change the circumstances themselves.
