A Daily Thunder Series with Eric Ludy and Nathan Johnson
The Round Table
Part 1: Freeing the Hostages
In this brand new series, Eric Ludy and Nathan Johnson discuss the importance of words and why it’s so important for us to think biblically about words we use in the Church. In this first episode, they talk about how the enemy loves to hijack and redefine terms, perverting and twisting their meanings, and what we need to do about it. They also give the example of “Father” and why it’s necessary to consider it in light of Scripture rather than our experience. If you want a fresh biblical understanding of a Christian’s vocabulary and how it practically changes your life, you’ll love this new round table discussion series.
Part 2: Freed From the Wacko
Within the Church, the Holy Spirit is typically either an exciting subject or something you avoid at all costs. Yet, as Eric and Nathan discuss, the Holy Spirit is the very life of Christ within us-and the only way we can live out the reality of Christianity. In this round table discussion, Eric and Nathan talk about their own past with the topic of the Holy Spirit and why it’s important for us to understand the life and role of the Holy Spirit biblically.
Take this concept further by listening to Eric’s sermon The Old Servant.
Part 3: What’s so Amazing About Grace?
Grace truly is amazing. But why?
While we have all heard the term “grace” used in church, many of us think of it as “mercy” or the kindness of God … but grace is so … much … more. Scripture says that God’s grace is manifold—there are countless layers or “folds” to the beauty and splendor of God’s grace. In this episode, Eric and Nathan sit down to discuss how the Bible describes grace and why it truly is amazing.
Part 4: Putting on the Parachute
Christians are called “believers,” yet most of us separate the concepts of belief and faith in our minds and in how we live. In this episode, Eric and Nathan sit down to talk about the connection between believing and having faith, why faith is critical to our lives, and they give several good (and goofy) illustrations to help us understand that faith (belief) is more than merely a mental activity.
Part 5: How do we handle Baptism?
Baptism can be a divisive topic in the church and we tend to either place way too much emphasis on it or not enough. In this episode, Eric and Nathan sit down to discuss the importance of baptism, what it actually means biblically as it relates to salvation, and how we can navigate important questions like: should I be baptized?, should I be baptized again?, and is baptism necessary for salvation?
Part 6: Missing the Mark on Sin
While we as Christians often hear and talk about “sin” – many of us have a water-downed version of what Scripture describes. In this round table discussion, Eric and Nathan talk about what sin is, the difference between sin and sins, and why we desperately need to understand sin so we can have a greater comprehension of all Jesus did as our Savior.
Part 7: Clarifying Conviction vs Condemnation
Many Christians are confused over the difference between conviction and condemnation—but the difference is vast. In this important episode, Eric and Nathan sit down to discuss the beauty of conviction and the need to turn a deaf ear to condemnation.
Part 8: a Declaration of dependence
We love our independence politically, but to live that way spiritually will bring destruction and death. What we need as Christians is a humble declaration of dependence. In this episode, Eric and Nathan sit down to discuss what dependence is, why it is so essential in the Christian life, and what it means practically to live from a place of dependence upon God.
Part 9: What's Around the Corner
In this special Daily Thunder episode, Eric and Nathan sit down to reflect on the past season of Daily Thunder and discuss their exciting new summer series, which launches mid-June.
